The current lighthouse is showing its age, which is understandable after standing 143 years in a marine environment.  The services of International Chimney Corporation have been secured to prevent further deterioration of the lighthouse and to restore the structure.  An effort to stabilize the upper portion of the tower began in August, 2008 and continues to the present.  CNHA has embarked on a fundraising effort to help restore and preserve this historic landmark of the Eastern Shore.  We're asking you to join us in raising the $1,500,000 necessary to complete the restoration and establish a maintenance endowment fund.

If you wish to make a tax-deductible gift to the Assateague Lighthouse Restoration Fund, you may make your donation by clicking on the "DONATE" button at the bottom of the page.
