Junior Birder

Becoming a junior birder is fun and easy to do.  Just stop by the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center and pick up an activity booklet to complete.  Completing the booklet will help you learn how to identify birds in every season of the year, bird tracks, endangered and threatened birds, and other neat things which are in the form of puzzles and games.  Once you have completed the booklet you must return it to the Visitor Center where a refuge employee will go over the answers with you.  They will sign your booklet and give you a patch that reads "Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge Jr. Birder".  You can wear it on your backpack or jacket and have a great souvenier of your visit to the refuge!!  Check out the neat patch you'll get when you've finished the booklet! →
