Children in the Woods Camp 2011
Children in the Woods Day Camp was a tremendous success last summer! We ran sessions in June, July, and August. Through the program, many kids were able to engage in week-long outdoor escapades that helped them to experience Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in new ways. Adventures included kayaking, birding, forestry, crabbing, clamming, surf fishing, marine explorers, lighthouse tours, digital photography, and archery. The rangers are planning a lot of exciting experiences for this year, too! If you'd like to attend one of the sessions this year, click here to visit the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge website for an application. Applications must be hand delivered or received in the refuge office by 5:00 PM on June 3, 2011.
