First Friday Talks

Due to the current weather alert for Hurricane Earl, the September 3rd presentation by Martha Burns and Linda Hartsock has been postponed.  The authors have graciously offered to consider scheduling their talk for a date in the spring.


Beach Cleanup Scheduled

September 18th has been selected as the date for the annual beach clean-up.  Registration will begin at 8:00 AM and the clean-up will be complete by noon.



Saturday at the Refuge

During the months of September through November, the CNHA Membership Committee has scheduled informative talks to be held in the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center auditorium.  All talks are scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.  Please mark your calendar for the following dates:

September 18 - Mark Greenley, who spoke last year about Native Americans in the Chincoteague area, will return this year to speak about Native American use of natural materials.


Benefit Concert Scheduled
CNHA is sponsoring a benefit concert on October 2, 2010 with all proceeds to be used in the restoration and preservation of the Assateague Lighthouse.  The concert, featuring the local group "Three Sheets," will be held at 7:00 PM at the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center on the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.  Tickets may be obtained at the Bateman Center or pay by phone at (757) 336-3696.  Click on the icon on the right to display the concert poster in Adobe format.
